The Program this month will be a discussion on Seasonally Appropriate Flies. The discussion will be lead by Mike Donovan. He will also demonstrate a pattern or two. There will also be a few videos related to this subject.
Nick Schroeder of Trout Unlimited will give us an update on their trout stocking for this year.
The next meeting of the HFF will be August 20th. Again, we will be meeting at the American Legion on 3rd Street with dinner at 6:00 and the program at 7:00.
It is interesting to note that on Monday 19th we will be treated to a Supermoon, Blue Moon which is also the Sturgeon Moon. It seems fitting that our fishing group meeting will be introduced by a Sturgeon Moon.
Kyle Swafford will lead us with a talk about fishing for/catching smallmouth bass. His talk will include some video information as well as his personal experience. He will also be demonstrating a fly he claims really works for smallies. There will also be a video on tying a bluegill fly and some casting tips. I am sure I am not the only one interested in fishing for smallmouth bass in local waters. Perhaps there may even be a bit more fly tying.
Hope to see you all there and look forward to hearing about your summer adventures. Again, dinner at 6:00 and the program at 7:00
