I hope you all have managed to survive the recent weather. That was a lot of rain…lots of water and we need water to fish. May I assume that more water equals more fish? It is always interesting to see what changes this flood will bring to local waters.
The next HFF meeting will be April 15th. Again, we will meet at the American Legion Post 18, with dinner at 6:00 and the program at 7:00. The program will be in two parts. First, Sandy Clark-Kolaks will introduce us to WINGS…Women in Nature Gaining Skills. I am looking forward to learning about this group and their activities. The second part of the evening will be the Annual Auction.
The Annual Auction of Good Stuff is always lots of fun. This is the chance to get those fishing/outdoor related items you didn’t know you really needed. We depend on members to donate very desirable and worthy items related to fishing and outdoor activities. And be assured, there will be feathers you really do need. My guess is there will be a few books with lots of pretty pictures and perhaps even some material worth reading if you are still into old fashion reading…There will always be some great flies tied by the members. However, there will be no Goose. The auction helps fund the club picnic and Christmas party and gifts to the Legion folks, occasional conservation projects, and Healing Waters and Casting for Recovery. There will be a bit of a change this year. Kernal Kevin will not be able to join us as auctioneer. The honor will be in the able hands of Kyle Swafford. So, bring some really good stuff to give Kyle something to work with to part you with a few bucks for the good of the club.
More news.. The HFF Annual Picnic will be on May 10th. Once again Barry and Susie Clarke have offered their Lake Lemon home for the gala event. More on this soon.
Looking forward to learning about WINGS and seeing all the great stuff you bring for the auction. Again Dinner at 6:00 and the program at 7:00.
Stay warm,
Tim
